I was one of the divers on the Swanage Diver yesterday (19th) when
one of our divers went missing.
I have never experienced this situation before and even being one of the
divers on the boat was a traumatic experience.
MANY MANY thanks to your control staff who coordinated the search and the
eventual rescue and to the crew of the helicopter which arrived so promptly
and was a hugely reassuring sight in the sky above us.
I have sent an email to the Swanage Lifeboat whose crews were equally
awesome. At the end of the day we were all tired, emotional but thankful
that in the UK we have the benefit of such professional and effective
emergency assistance at sea.
Once again many, many thanks

Great news about the approved planning in the North Beach car park...and good luck with the new station. My Great-Great Grandfather on my mothers side Fredrick Williams was a Coastguard at St Aldhems and then transfered to Swanage.I also have fond memories of sitting in the Studland Coastguard lookout in the 60s with my Great Uncle Bill(Green) When it was quiet he'd use the official CG telephone to put a few shillings on the horses! |
