40 incidents in 2008 IRT: Initial Response Team (minimum of 2 team members) BURT: Back Up Response Team (a full team callout) Minor Incident: A non recordable incident Page: 1 of 10 11 May:  Just after 3.00am the IRT were tasked to Studland after a call from a member of the public stating their friends were in difficultly in a dinghy. Both Swanage Lifeboats were also launched and with the IRT located two persons in the water after the dinghy had sunk. Both were taken to Poole hospital for checks and later arrested by Police. The pair had been drinking and took the dinghy from the shore without oars, lifejackets or any other safety equipment, this incident could have turned out very differently had rescue crews not arrived so quickly. Tasked:  IRT + Both Swanage Lifeboats, Dorset Police, Southwestern Ambulance Team:  J. Bentham, T. Simmons 11 May:  The IRT were tasked this morning to a report of a container washed up on the beach under the Grand Hotel. Colleagues from Dorset Fire & Rescue were already dealing when Coastguards arrived and have removed the container for the Environment Agency to collect. Tasked:  IRT + Dorset Fire and Rescue Team:  B. Craker, G. Kitching, I. Brown 09 May:  Just before 7pm, the IRT was tasked to the beach by Ocean Bay following several 999 calls to Police of a smoke grenade on the beach. Having liaised with the Police at the scene, an EOD team has been tasked to collect the item. Tasked:  IRT + Dorset Police Team:  P. Brown, R. Woolford 07 May:  IRT tasked to the pier to meet Hawkeye which was being escorted in by another local boat. Hawkeye had suffered electrical failure off St Albans head. Tasked:  IRT Team:  B.
