A 999 call to Portland Coastguard sparked a search tonight after a report of an inflatable dinghy blowing alone the tide line with no one with it. Swanage ILB on exercise was tasked to check and was soon joined by the helicopter who spotted a pair of oars in the water. The IRT were tasked to search for a possible owner and found them by the clock tower eating fish and chips watching the action. With everyone confirmed safe all units were stood down. |
