<description>At 01.15 Portland Coastguard paged the Swanage BURT to search the beaches at Studland for several people reported missing from the Barfleur Ferry. A male had been located on the Sandbanks Chain Ferry wearing wet clothes and there was concern there were others missing in the water, Swanage and Poole Lifeboats were requested to launch, Poole Coastguard BURT, Dorset Police Officers joined the search and the Rescue Helicopter from Lee on Solent R104 was scrambled.
In very difficult weather conditions all search units carried out a very wide search of the area for the possible missing people.
At around 4am units were returned to station for a break and to warm up and wait for 1st light however shortly after 5am information was received that all persons had been accounted for. Dorset Police and UK Borders Agency are now dealing with the matter.
